DataFlex Reports - Overview

Overview

The Difference is in the Details.

Operational reporting

Create reports for Windows, web or mobile with DataFlex Reports. Conceptually, the type of reports built with DataFlex Reports are of operational level. The reports produced will have some sort of notion of paper, and paper-size. DataFlex Reports gives full control of positioning objects, their colors, size and appearance.

All you need, is in the box.

Creating reports requires a mix of data collection, visual design, calculations, formulas, selecting and filtering. DataFlex Reports offers a vast matrix of features to allow the creation of any report thinkable. Whether for end-users, or software developers, all necessary tools are right there; it’s all in the box.

Fully control the look & feel of reports.

Reports can be built manually in DataFlex, but with DataFlex Reports, a sophisticated visual layout designer becomes available. DataFlex Reports produces stand-alone reports that can be run. But a software developer may choose to take care of data collection, filtering and other aspects in his program code, and then let DataFlex Reports take care of producing the pixel-perfect layout.

Feel free to create your own reports.

End-users sometimes find themselves locked out of their own data. With the Standard Edition, end-users can create reports, getting information out of their own data. Many of the steps that are needed to create a report do not require programming. But the power-user who is acquainted with VB script, may be able to develop very advanced reports himself.

When the going gets tough...

DataFlex Reports is designed with the software developer in mind, who wants to have full control over the application, including the reports. The Developer Edition comes with a vast library to seamlessly integrate reports in Windows, web and mobile applications.

For a different kind of reporting and information delivery, check out Dynamic AI.

Dynamic AI offers a great way to produce higher level management and decision-making information. See high-level summaries, charts and graphs first. Then drill down as needed into aggregated totals and quickly slice and dice data to show it from different angles.
