Database & Connectivity
Application connectivity to leading SQL databases is essential for creating reliable, high-performance business applications. Each DataFlex 2019/19.1 installation file includes the connectivity components for the SQL databases listed below.
A variety of additional data sources can be accessed through ODBC including Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQLBase, Microsoft Access, flat file databases like dBase and even non-database data like Excel and ASCII files. Use of the DataFlex ODBC Connectivity Kit requires the installation of a specific ODBC Driver for the target data source.
Full details of database and driver support are below in the Current Products List. See: DataFlex SQL Driver Support & Updates
Notes on Installation Environments
When used in conjunction with Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server 2016, DataFlex Studio and Windows Client are supported on Windows Terminal Services.

DataFlex 2016/18.2 Supported Environments:
Documentation:
SQL database drivers are an integral part of the DataFlex environment. The latest then-current driver is included in the installation of all DataFlex Studio, Windows Client and WebApp Server releases. Recent DataFlex versions include the following SQL database drivers:
The newest DataFlex SQL Drivers (6.3.0.15) support the following databases:
A variety of additional data sources can be accessed through ODBC including Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQLBase, Microsoft Access, flat file databases like dBase and even non-database data like Excel and ASCII files. Use of the DataFlex ODBC Connectivity Kit requires the installation of a specific ODBC Driver for the target data source.
You can find ODBC configuration information specific to certain database backends like MySQL (MySQL.int) and Oracle (Oracle.int) in the \Bin directory. These files should be modified according to your specific installed version of the target database.
How to get the latest DataFlex SQL Drivers
We publish DataFlex SQL Driver "updates" that contain the latest drivers packaged in a ZIP file designed to apply these drivers to properly licensed deployment environments that already have prior DataFlex SQL drivers installed.
Download the October 2019 DataFlex SQL Driver Update 6.3.0.15 ZIP. See the ReadMe.
You can determine the driver version installed in your DataFlex environments by clicking Help | About | System Information in the DataFlex Studio. Unless you have specific reason not to, we recommend that you update your installation to the latest DataFlex SQL driver version available along with the corresponding Microsoft driver component (e.g. ODBC Driver 11 or 13.1) available for the target database.
By installing the above update, DataFlex revisions prior to the December build of DataFlex 2109/19.1 will be considered supported for the databases listed above when used with the 6.3.0.15 driver and corresponding Microsoft components.
For supported OS versions, please refer to the DataFlex environment where the database driver will be installed.
