Notes & Disclaimers
Visual DataFlex Support for Windows Terminal Services
This document describes how we support Windows Terminal Services support with Data Access Worldwide products.
Visual DataFlex Support for Citrix XenApp
This document describes how we support Citrix XenApp with Data Access Worldwide products.
Only Console Mode Runtime Supported for Character Mode on Windows 2000 and higher Platforms
For DataFlex 3.2, only the Console Mode Runtime (dfruncon.exe) is supported on the Windows 2000 and newer operating systems. There are known problems on these platforms with the DOS runtime (dfrun.exe). Read more about this issue here.
Operating System Updates
Operating system vendors frequently release updates and patches, such as service packs, for their operating systems. Be sure to always update your operating systems with the latest updates available from your operating system vendor. Some issues with our products may be affected by known operating system issues that are already resolved by updates released by the system vendor.
Obsolete Platforms
Some products we support were originally tested on operating systems that are now obsolete. For those products, we will not attempt to confirm issues reported on these platforms. In these cases, we will attempt to confirm issues reported on newer platforms.
LiNUX & UNIX Supported Platforms
The LiNUX platforms and kernels, as well as UNIX platforms, listed above, are those on which the product was built and tested (the revisions that were latest when the product was released). Higher revisions of the same LiNUX or UNIX platforms should work with these products, but are untested.
Important! Linux/Samba shares are NOT supported. You can read more details in the document entitled Linux & Samba as a host for DataFlex databases.
Mips ABI and IBCS2 Compliance for UNIX and LiNUX Platforms
For Mips ABI and IBCS2 compliant systems, it is each individual UNIX and LiNUX system vendors responsibility to express and ensure compliance with the the Mips ABI or IBCS2 standards. Please see the Installation & Environment Guide that shipped with your product for more specific revision information.
