Larrondo Ingenieros en Software, a long time Data Access Worldwide developer (since 1983), based in Chile, South America, has been selected for the second consecutive year to provide a downloadable tax return application for Servicio de Impuestos Internos (SII), the country’s Internal Revenue Service. The Visual DataFlex application allows Chilean taxpayers to submit their tax information via the Internet. The application was selected over 20 other software systems.

Earlier this year, SII posted a free copy of Larrondo’s Visual DataFlex-powered tax processing software on its website for taxpayers to download. SII provided the free software in an effort to increase the national use of computers to file tax claims. The VDF package was well received by SII, who then requested Larrondo to develop a specialized version of the application for their web-site.

"I know there are many non-VDF enthusiasts out there who will argue the job could have been done just as well in any other language of their choice, but I sincerely doubt we could have done it on time and with that level of professional excellence had it not been written in VDF," said Ivan Larrondo, the company’s senior software engineer.
