Charles L. (Chip) Casanave III is the president and CEO of Data Access Worldwide, a global provider of application development software and services. As a principal of the company since 1978, Mr. Casanave has been instrumental in developing the company’s international subsidiaries and distributors. Originally Data Access’s vice president of sales & marketing, Mr. Casanave now oversees business development, product direction, new product and technology initiatives and overall corporate strategy. Mr. Casanave holds a bachelors degree in Communication Arts from the University of West Florida.

Eddy Kleinjan, Senior Consultant, has worked with DataFlex since 1988, and is a recognized expert at Data Access’ products in the broadest sense. Eddy has also worked for Data Access Europe BV since 1993. An education in Electrical Engineering and a very high affinity with computers led him directly into software development for his professional career. Eddy continuously takes courses and educates himself to stay up-to-date in the areas of computer science, software development and systems analysis. As a member of the management-team at Data Access Europe, Eddy is responsible for the management of several projects, advises and contributes to the Research & Development team, and provides many technology-oriented product demonstrations.   

Dan Levene is currently Manager of Technology Systems for Anasazi Software, Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona. Dan has been writing Dataflex applications since 1993 and has been employed by Anasazi since 1998. Dan’s programming responsibilities currently include all extra-application programs used to support the deployment, maintenance and upgrading of Anasazi’s suite of applications for the behavioral health industry. In addition he manages a department responsible for internal IT, two ASP networks hosting customer data and applications, and technical support for over 100 customer sites both for Anasazi’s own applications and any underlying infrastructure or operating system issues that may affect the successful implementation of Anasazi’s mission critical products.

Stephen W. Meeley is Vice President of Product Management for Data Access Worldwide. Stephen joined the Data Access Worldwide team as Technical Support Manager in 1984 after months of independent application consulting using DataFlex 1.64 and 2.0e. Over the years Stephen has acquired responsibility for Technical training and Quality Control. The creation of the Current Product Development department in 1992 brought him the additional responsibility of overseeing continued development of the character mode versions of DataFlex 3.x products. Stephen was promoted to Vice President in late 1992 and is a member of the Data Access Worldwide board. Before beginning his involvement with DataFlex, Stephen began his computing career in 1977 with the large retail chain Tandy Corporation as Manager of Radio Shack Computer Centers. 

Riaz Merchant is the CEO of Mertech Data Systems, Inc., the leading provider of high-performance ISAM to SQL database connectivity drivers. Founded in 1996, Mertech’s middleware technology powers mission critical applications in over 2500 companies around the world. Riaz holds a Masters degree in Computer Engineering from Florida International University, Miami where he was involved in research related to industrial application of artificial intelligence. Riaz is also the CEO of MyGlobalCam Inc. (www.myglobalcam.com). MyGlobalCam’s softwares allow companies to quickly set up platform-independent global instant communication (audio, video, IM) infrastructure. Riaz lives in Miami with his wife and son.

Dr. Ido Millet is an Associate Professor of MIS, a consultant, and a developer of several software utilities (www.MilletSoftware.com) for Crystal Reports. He received his Ph.D. from the Wharton School of Business and has worked as a developer and systems analyst on several reporting-related projects. For the last 9 years he has been teaching a “Management Reporting Systems” course.  Ido has answered more than 3,000 questions on the Crystal Reports Tek-Tips and Experts Exchange forums.  He has delivered reporting insights & techniques sessions at several conferences (DISD 2005, Business Objects 2004, CDUGNA 2003, Toronto PowerBuilder User Group 2000, Sybase 1999, Powersoft 1998, DSS 1997).

Eric Morris is the CEO and co-founder of Anasazi Software, Inc. Eric began his career in computer technologies in 1977, began using DataFlex in the early 80’s, and was one of the original developers of the Anasazi Software product suite using DataFlex 2.3b. Established in 1989 and based in Phoenix, Arizona, Anasazi Software has grown to become a leading provider of software products to the behavioral health care industry. The Anasazi Software product suite is comprised of seven fully integrated applications which address the needs of patient tracking, billing and reporting, clinical assessment, treatment planning and progress noting, scheduling, general accounting, human resources, cost accounting, and provider network management - a comprehensive "soup to nuts" single vendor / single product / single platform solution, all built using the DAW suite of development tools.

Rod Mundy is the Senior Programmer at Jasper Engines, the nation’s leading remanufacturer of a diverse line of drivetrain components. After six years in the Navy, Rod graduated from Brescia College with degree in Computer Science. Rod’s been using DataFlex and Visual DataFlex since 1997, and has migrated several applications from VDF 4 through VDF 10 revisions. Rod was the lead developer on projects to migrate back-end databases from native DataFlex to Pervasive, then to Oracle. All of Jasper’s applications, including Order Entry, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, Production Flow, Distribution, etc., are developed in Visual DataFlex by Jasper’s in-house developers. Using the flexibility of Visual DataFlex, Jasper’s also integrated Web Applications, Web Services, and other Automation Controls into the company’s software. 

Nick Nikijuluw is the Managing Director and founder of the Dutch subsidiary of Data Access Corporation, Data Access Europe BV, in 1991. Formerly educated in Mechanical Engineering, Nick left the Royal Netherlands Air force in 1988, after which he finished post-graduate studies in programming and systems analysis. Nick has worked with DataFlex since 1988, while career changes have led him more and more toward the direction of marketing & management. Since 1991, Data Access Europe BV has grown to become an economically strong company with a staff of over 25 people. Together with assigned Channel Partners, the company is responsible for marketing and distribution in 13 European countries.

Vincent Oorsprong, Manager Training & Support. During his career at the Dutch government as research-assistant (Engineer in Forestry, Land & Water) Vincent became acquainted with DataFlex in 1985. Throughout his career Vincent has been actively involved in delivering training and support for developers using the DataFlex language. This experience led to his appointment as Manager, Training & Support at Data Access Europe BV in 1999. Vincent develops training materials and performs trainings all over Europe on behalf of Data Access and its partners, as well as presentations about Data Access Worldwide’s products at seminars and conferences.

Dennis Piccioni is a Software Engineer for Data Access Worldwide. Dennis has been programming in DataFlex for 11 years, since revision 3.01. After joining Data Access Worldwide as a member of the technical support team 9 years ago, Dennis is now a member of the development team. Dennis is the creator of the DAW Technical Knowledge Base and BugTracker systems. He now spends much of his time authoring and improving documentation, as well as doing support, testing and development. Dennis has authored numerous Data Access Worldwide Technical White Papers and is a frequent contributor to the Knowledge Base. 

Emil Stojanov is the CEO and co-founder of Quantaris BV, the market leader for notary software in The Netherlands. Founded in 1992, Quantaris has become a major player in the continuously changing and challenging world of notary software, with over 3500 people using the software on a daily basis. Quantaris currently has a development staff of 7 Visual DataFlex and VB developers and a total number of 27 employees. Apart from his work as CEO, Emil continues to do a lot of the development work in VDF. Born in Bulgaria in 1964, Emil has made his home in The Netherlands for almost 35 years, and currently lives with his wife and son.

John Tuohy, Chief Technology Officer, has been using DataFlex since the early 1980’s. In 1993, John created "Project X", a framework for using object-oriented DataFlex. This work was acquired by Data Access Worldwide and then transformed in to the DataFlex Application Framework (DAF) - the definitive methodology for developing in DataFlex and Visual DataFlex. Since then John has helped integrate this methodology into DataFlex 3.1, Visual DataFlex, and has assisted in the development of the DataFlex Data-Dictionaries. John is a product member of Visual DataFlex development team and has assisted in the development of the WebApp Server.
