I. Net use method:
   - This method works only on networked PCs.

1. Go to Start > Printers and Faxes
2. Right-click on the printer and select Properties
3. Click on the Sharing tab page
4. Select the 'Share this printer' radio and enter a share name
   (this will be used as SharedPrinterName for the 'net use' command)
5. Click Apply
6. Go to the Start menu and right click on 'My Computer'
7. Click on the 'Computer Name' tab page
8. Note the computer name. This is the name listed as 'Full computer name', up to the first dot (.).
   (this will be used as ComputerName for the 'net use' command)
9. At a Command prompt, type the following:
   net use lpt1: \\ComputerName\SharedPrinterName



II. Printer Pooling Method:
    - This method works on non-networked PCs.

1. Go to Start > Printers and Faxes
2. Right-click on the printer and select Properties
3. Click on the Ports tab page
4. Check the 'Enable printer pooling' checkbox at the bottom of the dialog
5. While holding down the Ctrl key, select and check the USB printer
6. Select and check the LPT1: port
7. Click Apply

Make sure that after this step, if you select only the LPT1: port
a. it is checked
b. it lists the USB printer name in the Printer column
c. the 'Enable printer pooling' checkbox at the bottom of the dialog is checked

If this is the case, you should now be able to print from DOS and your DataFlex program.
