PROBLEM:
The editor in the Studio has no coloring in it!

I configuired the text to be red, but it isn't. Other texts that should be green are plain gray like...

What can I do about this? I have 8.3, 9, 9.1, 10.0, and 10.1 on this machine; all work except for 10.1.

I see some entries in the registry that appears to be the color settings, but they appear to be just fine. The values are in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\10.1\Code-Editor\Colors

SOLUTION:
The Studio has a set of hard-coded defaults for all of the editor settings. If there are no registry entries, then these defaults should apply.

Try the following:

1) Back up your entire Windows registry (just in case).

2) Back up the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\10.1\Code-Editor branch of your registry.

3) Delete the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\10.1\Code-Editor branch of your registry.

4) Re-run the Studio and see if the default colors return.

If they do, then there was some bad entries that got stored in that branch of the registry that was messing things up. You should leave the branch deleted and re-configure the editor options you need.

If not, try re-installing VDF 10.1 on that machine.
