If you install the Novell Client (we tested with 4.9 sp2), one of the default setting in the client is file cache=yes.

This setting could cause data corruption, but also prevents the Visual DataFlex user counting system from working so that only one client may run VDF.

When you attempt to launch a second client, 2 errors are returned, one stating that the .dfr file could not be opened, and another error stating that the maximum number of users has been exceeded.

Setting this value to file cache=no in the client configuration screen resolves this issue.
