PROBLEM:
There is a particular VDF10.0 application receiving a very peculiar error on a single machine. The application runs fine on other computers except for one. There is also another application very similar to the one receiving errors that runs just fine on that computer.
The error displayed is "Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed." Has anyone seen this type of error before? We can't tell if this is a Visual DataFlex generated error or if it is coming from somewhere else.
SOLUTION:
The user in this instance had set his desktop to work 'offline':
My Documents > Tools > Folder Options > Offline Files:
- The first checkbox caused the problem as this user had a folder containing her shortcuts on her desktop. The local folder wasn't updated as often as it should have been.
Once it was turned off or refreshed everything worked normally.
