Manual Uninstall for Electos
If for some reason the Electos uninstall doesn't work, use the following steps to completely remove Electos from your machine.
1. Remove registry keys (only if you have experience with using regedit)
- Completely remove the base Electos key located at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Electos
- Remove the web applications key for the Electos Sitemanager, located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\9.1\WebApp Server\Web Applications\Electos.Sitemanager
- Remove all web application keys for the Electos Studio. Each installed version has its own key and all should be removed. Example of the key name:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\9.1\WebApp Server\Web Applications\Electos.v1-0
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\9.1\WebApp Server\Web Applications\Electos.v1-1
-Remove all web application keys for the websites. Each website has its own key and all should be removed. Example of the key name:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\9.1\WebApp Server\Web Applications\Electos.Websites.MyWebsite
or
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\9.1\WebApp Server\Web Applications\Electos.Websites.MyOtherWebsite
Remove the key that created the "add/remove program" item. This key is located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Electos
Remove the key used to register the eventlog dll. This key is located at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application\Electos
2. Remove the virtual directories. In the IIS management console you remove all virtual directories used for Electos. By default these are the "SiteManager", "Electos" and "MyWebsite" virtual directories underneath the "default web site".
3. Remove all files in the Electos install folder (c:\Program files\Electos by default). This might cause problems when the files are still in use. In this case try restarting the Web application service or (if the problem still exists) your system.
