QUESTION:
For deployment of Crystal Reports 9 or 10, which DLLs do we need to distribute?
ANSWER:
The most important DLLs are the ones mentioned in our Crystal Reports Connectivity Kit Users Guide documentation. Besides that, there is a runtime.chm file installed with the Crystal Reports Development Edition with additional DLLs to distribute.
Since version 9 of Crystal Reports, the version dependent DLLs are in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin (version 9) and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.5\bin (version 10). However, Crystal Reports also (still) installs a number of DLLs in the c:\windows\system32 directory.
Important!
If you are using Visual DataFlex, never distribute the Crystal files found in Visual DataFlex directories. Those should not be deployed; they are installed with Visual DataFlex to demonstrate the use of Crystal Reports reports running from a VDF application.
