QUESTION:
How can I start/stop a web application programmatically?
ANSWER:
To start and stop a Web Application you need to have your program change the value of the following registry entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Data Access Worldwide\Visual DataFlex\<VDF revision>\WebApp
Server\Web Applications\<your web application name>\Disable.
The value of Disable can be 0 (running/enabled) or 1 (stopped/disabled).
Even when process pooling is active the processes start and stop immediately according to the value set for Disable.
