QUESTION:
I bought Crystal Reports 10 and when I tried to install it to a Windows 98 Second Edition machine, I got the error:
"Your operating system does not support this software. This software requires Microsoft Windows 2000 SP 3 (or higher), Windows XP or later."
Is that a restriction to install the Crystal Runtime files also? In other words, if I have Crystal Reports installed on a Windows XP machine to create the rports, can I deploy those reports to Windows 98 SE machines?
ANSWER:
No, Crystal 10 is not supported under old Windows versions, not even the Client components. For a complete list of supported Operating Systems, follow the link listed below to the PDF document cr10_supported_platforms.pdf
The Crystal Connectivity Kit 9.0.0.57 supports both Crystal 9 and 10 and you should be able to install it on Windows 9x, ME and NT as well. In that case you would be using Crystal Reports 9.
