PROBLEM:
I ran the file from the CD (Documentation\Visual DataFlex 9.1\Discovering Visual DataFlex 9.0 Workspace Files) and it unzipped the workspace Class.VDF.Finished Example. This workspace includes the file Finished Example.exe, but when I try to execute that program, the error "Unable to locate a compatible version of vdfvm9.dll or one of its components." is displayed.

SOLUTION:
The EXE file on the CD is compiled in Visual DataFlex 9.0. You can download the program compiled in Visual DataFlex 9.1 using the link at the end of this article.

If you would like to recompile the program yourself, just open the Studio, select the Class | VDF | Finished Example workspace (from File | Select Workspace option), open CorporationX.src (using File | Open | Application) and press F7 to compile and run the application.

Note:
If you do not see the workspace name listed when selecting File | Select Workspace option, go to the Programs directory of that workspace (e.g. C:\Prorgam Files\Visual DataFlex 9.1\Projects\Class\VDF\Finished Example\Programs) and double-click on the Class.VDF.Finished Example.ws file. That should bring up the utility to register the workspace in VDF9.1 for you.
