QUESTION:
I would like to create a new empty set of DDF files. What should I use for that?

ANSWER:
You can either copy the empty set installed with your Visual DataFlex (under \Usr\DDF directory) or use Pervasive Control Center (PCC) to create new empty DDF files.

To use PCC you will need to have the relational engine running. Make sure that the Pervasive relational service is started, otherwise PCC will not run.

If you can start PCC, do the following :
- Right-click on Databases from the tree
- Select New | Database
- Type in the name you want displayed in PCC
- Select the location where you want to create the new DDFs
- Click on Next *
- Click on Finish
- Click on Close

* PCC from v9, just press Finish
