PROBLEM:
When installing SP3 for Crystal Reports XI, the installation panel goes away in the middle of creating back up files and SP3 does not get installed.
How can I fix that?
SOLUTION:
First check your DEP settings as described in KBase 2306 - PROBLEM: Crystal Reports XI does not run after installation.
If that is set correctly, it could be that you have wrong InstallShield (the installer used by Business Objects) files on your machine. To correct that:
1. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional
2. Remove the folder "RunTime". Before you delete it, make a back-up copy of it into a different location
3. Install SP3
