You can check the version of Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) currently installed on your machine using the MDAC Utility called "Component Checker" available for downloading at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=8F0A8DF6-4A21-4B43-BF53-14332EF092C9&displaylang=en.
The ODBC Connectivity Kit 4.0 supports MDAC 2.8 -- the latest released by Microsoft.
